As a member of the advisory board, Mr Martens strengthens our claim to competence and, in addition to the original advisory board tasks, also assumes a "sounding board" function for us in order to focus all the experience on custom-fit and creative solutions for our clients in crisis situations.
Bernd Martens has many years of experience in the areas of risk and insurance management for international corporations. His work focuses on strategic partnerships, restructuring, M&A, directors' and officers' liability and trade credit.
As Chief Specialty Officer, Mr Martens is currently responsible for the Specialty Division of Aon, an international brokerage and consulting company. With his team, he develops solutions for specific customer requirements beyond traditional insurance topics. In addition, as Chief Commercial Officer, he is responsible for Aon's Financial Institutions Division.
Previously, Mr Martens was a Member of the Board and Head of Cooperations at Marsh in Germany (part of Marsh & McLennan Companies). In this function, Mr. Martens established sales cooperations with banks and other partners and was responsible for strategic relationships with financial institutions, law firms and consulting firms, inter alia with the objective to transform impulses and risks from these networks into insurance solutions.
Before joining Marsh, Mr Martens worked for Willis with responsibility for sales in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
Following his training as a banker, Mr Martens studied international business administration at the Euro Business College in Munich and the European Business School in Dublin. During this time, he also worked on projects for various consulting firms.
